Welcome to the World Wide Website for the Dutch research program Sentinels.

Sentinels is a Dutch research program on security in ICT, networks and information systems. The Sentinels program aims to give a very significant boost to security expertise in the Netherlands by providing and managing resources for scientific research in information security, by building a national IT-security community, and by disseminating the results into industry and government in the Netherlands.

Sentinels is being financed by three Dutch organizations: the Ministery of Economic Affairs, the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research Governing Board (NWO-AB), and the Technology Foundation STW.

This site contains various kinds of information about Sentinels. A very short introduction can be found in the document Sentinels in a nutshell.

The deadline for the pre-proposals for the Sentinels research program has been closed at September 16, 2008. Details can be found at the call for pre-proposals at www.sentinels.nl/call.pdf. This third (and last) call is a combined call of the Sentinels program and the ICT Innovation Platform (IIP) ‘Veilig Verbonden’ and has been made possible thanks to the support of ICTRegie.
