Pre-proposals

A short pre-proposal is required for admission to the SENTINELS program. From this pre-proposal it should be clear what the topic of the research is, the type of research (see section 7.1), who the industrial partner(s) is (are), what the relevance of the (possible) results could be, a rough estimate of the costs involved and who is contributing to the research. Furthermore, the pre-proposal should describe why the applicants think the topic will fit within the program.

Items for evaluation for pre-proposals

The pre-proposals are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Does it fit within the framework of the program?

  • Is the matching from industry sufficient?

  • Does the pre-proposal address scientific as well as utilization issues?

In this phase, there is no judgement on the actual content of the proposal, since such judgements can only be made on the basis of a full proposal and expert comments.

If the answer to any of the above evaluation items is ``no'', the pre-proposal will be rejected. The applicants can submit a full proposal only when their pre-proposal is accepted.
