node43.html Project monitoring and User Committees For each project, a User Committee [38] will be formed. This committee serves as the main instrument for utilization. The user committee of a project is the forum for communication between university and participating users (e.g. from education, industry, government, public authorities, hospitals, etc.). It will meet twice a year and discuss the progress and the possible applications. The secretary of the user committee is a Program Officer of the Technology Foundation STW (ideally the secretary of the Program Committee). Each funded project will have to submit a progress report twice a year. The funds for a project are awarded in two terms. The second term becomes available after the submission of a continuation request and subsequent approval by the SENTINELS Program Committee. This is done according to the usual Technology Foundation STW policy [38].
